Fannie Mae, the largest provider of residential home funding in the United States, says it will now help pay the closing costs on purchases of foreclosed homes in its inventory.
They will assist buyers of qualified properties with up to 3.5 % in closing costs, or an equivalent amount for the purchase of new appliances.

houseIf the past equals the future and if our neighbor is any indication of things to come. Then California’s inventory of unsold, previously owned homes shrank to a five-year low in December, in another sign that the state may be coming out of its worst housing slump in decades.

The inventory levels are now at their lowest level since 2005, resulting in frenzied sales with multiple offers in some cities.

California’s housing market is closely watched because it is the nation’s biggest and helps fuel both the state’s economy and the national building industry.

I mention this only because California is a bellwether State. Like it or not. The State tends to be a forecast of nationwide economic prosperity. So the good news is the real estate market is improving.
