Fircrest is located about five miles east of the city, made up of nice single family homes built in several subdividions during the 1970s. The Fircrest neighborhod is primarily used for residential, commercial, with some agriculture. There are successful businesses like restaurants, hotels and many different types of retail shops. Other services within our neighborhood includes the Firstenburg Community Center, two churches, an ambulance service, fire station and a C-TRAN Transit Station. This is a mature neighborhood with many large trees and lush natural landscaping. This area still has a rural feeling and the neighborhood still has over 100 acres of undeveloped land. There are 4 distinct park areas, some with trails. Adding to the abundant open space is the Fircrest Elementary School's large land parcel of eleven acres and surrounding open space and park. Fircrest Elementary School, which is located on 9th street, is the center of our neighborhood.
