New Headlines says it all – Have Comprehensive Home Insurance

Boy, in the last few weeks the news headlines have said everything needed to be said about the importance of having good insurance coverage for your home and its contents, no matter what part of the country you may live in.
Floods, winds, tornados, rain, hail, earthquakes, surging ocean waters, lightning caused forest and open range fires; you name it and it has all happened all over the U.S. in the past few weeks making headlines from the east coast to the west coast.
Having the right amount of insurance on your biggest investment is a must. Most people only think about home insurance when they first buy a new home and then just continue to renew that old policy year after year until something dramatic happens and they wake up and realize that they either did not have enough insurance to cover a major loss or they had no insurance at all to cover losses caused by circumstances they thought could never happen in their neck of the woods, or at least couldn’t happen them them.
Home insurance policies should be updated and reviewed every year by a competent insurance agent from the company you are currently with, and maybe even another company to be sure you are getting the best rates for your coverage.
There are many types of coverage available that many of us do not even think about and a good agent, or even a good real estate professional can often help with.
Take mold or mildew for example. How many of us consider mold or mildew when we purchase home insurance? Much damage and health problems are caused each year by mold alone. Talk to your insurance agent, or a good local Vancouver Realtor for more ideas about the proper coverage for your home.
Renters should also look into home insurance coverage for renters because most home owners insurance does not cover any renters property or pay for renters stays at a hotel while a “fix” is taking place on a damaged home or apartment.
